8-2-21 THOUGHTS

Last evening, Michael quoted an Islandic proverb that has gnawed at me.  “Care Must Be Taken When You Are In The Presence Of A SOUL!"   I believe that for the sake of God’s LOVE, every man we meet must be VALUED!  HE IS A SOUL IN MY PRESENCE AND I OWE HIM THE “DIGNITY GOD GIVES EVERY SOUL!”  

Deut 10:12   "Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
Ezek 18:4   "Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die..
Matt 10:28   "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matt 16:26   "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matt 22:37  And He said to him, "’YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’
John 12:27    "Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.
1Thes 5:23    Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Heb 10:38-39   BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.  39  But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.
1Pet 1:22   Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

I have always thought that there was an element of “SOUL LOVING” in “Blessed are they that mourn”...     Jas 5:20  let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.      I sometimes wonder if our problem with evangelism is that we focus on PROCESS & OUGHT, when we ought to be weeping for lost souls.  If we TRULY understood the VALUE OF EACH SOUL, wouldn’t it be more natural for us to overflow with the GOOD NEWS THAT SAVES ALL SOULS?

My Prayer:
O Lord, thank you for our souls and the promise of eternity with you through Christ Jesus.  We praise and honor and love you.  Help us to see the larger picture of life with so many souls dying in sin.  Soften our hearts to this carnage. Cause to mourn for the sin that brings death.  May we see each soul as it passes through our lives as an opportunity for the love of Jesus.  Help us to be salt and light.             It’s ever in the name of our Lord and Savior               Amen
